Canoa Quebrada
canoa
Moon and stars, sunshine and nightlife, excitement and tranquility. Canoa Quebrada, originally a traditional fishing village, has excellent accommodations and tourist infrastructure while preserving its rustic charm. Wind sculpted sand banks are the beach´s post card view, while bars and restaurants offer exotic and sophisticated food and beverage. Its many art and handcraft small shops are well worth the time. Nearby, you may take in the beauty of Fontes, Rodonda, and Morro Branco beaches, or the historic culture of Aracati and a boat trip on the Jaguaribe river. But save some energy, because the cultures and sounds of Canoa come together at night to celebrate life. Life that gets a little more beautiful when you experience Canoa.

Cariri
cariri
Juazeiro is a place with rare beauty and intense religious faith. Juazeiro do Norte is one of the main centers for religious pilgrimages in the country. The city is famous for its churches, museums, and its well known statue of Father Cícero Romão Batista. At the same time in the region of Crato, Barbalha, Nova Olinda and Santana do Cariri are the perfect landscape for eco-tourism, with unique flora and fauna, hot springs, caves and waterfalls. The region is the perfect place for hiking, walking, cycling, and adventure sports. Cariri, carved out of the Araripe canyon, has the largest Cretaceous period fossil bed in the world and old sugar mills and mansions that preserve a piece of our State´s history. Cariri is a destination that offers a pluralistic mixture of culture, customs, legends, beauty, beliefs and tastes.

Jericoacoara
jeri
Mother Nature was generous when she made Jericoacoara. Because of its breathtaking beauty Jericoacoara has been a protected environmental area since 1984. Contemplating the sunset from the top of a dune and a visit to the Pedra Furada rock formation are unforgettable experiences. Visitors may also travel the 56km of beach between Jericoacoara and Camocim, enjoying the scenery of this incredible tropical paradise. Nearby are the enchanting Lagoinha, Flecheiras and Mundaú white sand beaches filled with coconut trees. Jeri, as we like to call it, also offers a nightlife full of fun with charming bars and restaurants rich in the culinary arts, and don’t forget a homemade banana pie for desert! At Forró Street, tradicional dance music excites the visitors. The special late night bakery is something special.

The wide open sky and the gentle movement of the wind blown coconut leaves welcome you to the Land of Joy. In Fortaleza, happiness is found on the beaches, streets, and the smiles of our people. The State Capital has a soothing breeze, clean seas and 27ºC average temperature to guarantee fun all week long. On the West Coast visitors are breath taken by the splendor of Jericoacoara, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. On the East Coast the legendary Canoa Quebrada beach surprises one with its magnitude. In the southern part of the State, the scenery transforms. The region of Cariri has a mild climate, with exuberant flora and fauna. Here you will find Juazeiro which was founded by the historic Father Cícero. In Ceará we recommend taking advantage of every second with joy as your inseparable companion.

Fortaleza is the state capital of Ceará, located in Northeast Brazil. It is the fifth largest city in Brazil, with a population of 2.3 million people (metropolitan region over 3.4 million) approximately. It has an area of 313 square kilometers (121 sq mi) and the highest demographic density in the country (8,001 per km²). Residents of the city are known as Fortalezenses. Fortaleza is one of the three leading cities in the Northeast region together with Recife and Salvador. The city will be one of the host cities of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, for which Brazil is the host nation.

Fortaleza has a tropical, dry and wet climate, with high temperatures and high relative humidity throughout the year. However, these conditions are usually relieved by pleasant winds blowing from the ocean. Average temperatures are not much different throughout the year, they are around 30.5º (86.9 F). This city has an ideal wind speed to practice activities such as surfing and kite flying.

Nightlife in Fortaleza is pretty related to the local music called Forró or refined dining. Over the last four years several high quality restaurants have opened up as the city raises its standards and, in particular, with the world cup 2014. Fortaleza also has a well trodden beachfront at the Beira Mar Avenue, where joggers start before 6am and after the sun goes down at 6pm. On this beachfront there is a variety of events to view including volleyball, roller hockey, the Japanese Garden, the arts market and people generally out enjoying a walk with their families.

Fortaleza has some urban beaches that attract both citizens and tourists for its complexes. In Praia do Futuro (Future Beach) you can find several good quality beach complexes of which the most popular are Crocobeach and Atlantidiz. They generally close when the sun goes down and the area becomes rather dark and desert at night.
Here you have a list of some sightseeing places in Fortaleza and in the nearby cities – many of them enable tourists to know a lot more about the local culture.
